There are some articles and including IMDb stating that Steven Spielberg is still involved with Interstellar as one of the producers. Something that's been puzzling my mind for days; when first the reports revealed that Chris Nolan is taking on this project, all the reports, respectively, were filed without Steven Spielberg's name. To get the question answered if Steven Spielberg is one of the producers or not, I'm told by a very reliable source that he is not at all involved with Interstellar.

The film is secretive as much as it is ambitious; it is the style of Mr. Nolan to keep calm and have everyone who is also involved be as reticent as possible. Interstellar is a co-production between Paramount and Warner Bros., which was pushed forward by Lynda Obst, who authorized the production based on the treatment by Physicist Kip Thorne. Steven Spielberg in 2006 came on board when Dreamworks was owned by Paramount and when Caltech physicist and relativity expert Kip Thorne's scientific theory that wormholes exist and can be used for time travel intrigued Spielberg.

Steven Spielberg brought Jonathan Nolan, Christopher Nolan's younger brother immediately to pen a script based on Thorne's sagacious theories. Even after the script was completed, it for years sat on Spielberg's desk untouched. On January 2013, after Steven Spielberg left the project, Chris Nolan, after the success of his last Batman film, The Dark Knight Rises took on the project. He began working without wasting time on the draft that Jonah Nolan had penned for Steven Spielberg to simply incorporate some of his own original ideas. Interstellar is going to be produced by Lynda Obst, Chris Nolan and his wife Emma Thomas' Syncopy banner along with Jordan Goldberg, who will executive produce while Kip Thorne will stay as the technical consultant respectively.

Interstellar is starring Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Michael Caine, Bill Irwin and Casey Affleck. Chris Nolan is going to roll the cameras on August 6th in Calgary, Alberta with the cast and crew. Interstellar is scheduled to open on November 7, 2014.
