Michael Caine has been of cinema's most accomplished and revered actors for nearly 50 years. He has earned lead actor Oscar nominations and won two. One for 1986's Hannah and Her Sisters and 1999's The Cider House Rules. - When it comes to Christopher Nolan films, we know Mr. Caine as Mr. Alfred in Chris' The Dark Knight Trilogy. He's been, very dearly, part of almost all of Christopher Nolan films, starting with 2005's Batman Begins. His roles, whether they are big or small they always remain an essential part of any film that Nolan has directed.

So, it was no surprise when we learned that Mr. Caine has a part to play in Interstellar. The surprise of us fans was more of an excitement to see a legend like Mr. Caine once again playing a role in Mr. Nolan next film; a film, which we call, a masterpiece in the making.

Michael recently sat with Los Angeles Times to talk about his new film, Last Love, which opens this Friday in Los Angeles. He talks about the film, his Twitter account and also, very briefly, brings the spotlight on Interstellar, his part in the film and if he has even filmed anything yet. Excerpt below is from the interview.

"I have shot some in Calgary, and I shoot more in Los Angeles in November. I don't have a big part in it. I play the part of the science professor. He gave me another wonderful character in this one. The thing about Christopher Nolan is that he writes so you really believe the characters. In many of these big movies, the characters are just ciphers."
